Leaders from across the public sector estate came together on 11 June at ExCeL London for the second annual Public Sector Estates Congress, a dedicated event focused on sharing insight, experience and lessons learned across the sector.

The Congress provided a valuable platform for estate professionals to discuss common challenges, exchange best practice, and explore innovative approaches to managing public sector assets and estates.

Attendees benefited from a packed programme of expert-led presentations, panel discussions, and thought leadership sessions, alongside extensive networking opportunities. The event also connected delegates with leading organisations and solution providers who showcased products and services designed to support public sector estate strategies and objectives.

"Today has helped to bring different people from different backgrounds together and is an opportunity to network and meet existing clients and to meet new people and make new connections. We really value that as a business, not just in terms of raising Lambert Smith Hampton’s profile but also getting to know what’s going on in the market."

"We covered a lot of themes, from the how we think creatively about the reuse of assets, the need to bring in place making and have a vision for how the estate can transform places, the importance of public realm and green spaces, and of not ‘selling the family silver’ but thinking creatively about ways of generating revenue."

"Cross sector cross industry events that tackle a breadth of subjects are so important. All too often the debate is sectorised and we miss out on some of the great initiatives other sectors are doing. At the end of the day, public sector estates are all buildings, just with varying levels of complexity and today was a good opportunity to demonstrate that..."

"The collaboration between public and private sectors is essential in estate strategy and infrastructure funding. The DIO is working closely with private partners to improve estate efficiency, drive innovation, and deliver projects at greater speed and value. By leveraging the strengths of both sectors, we can better meet the evolving needs of defence and the wider public estate."
